Saudi Crown Prince, Turkish President hold talks on regional and global developments

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met in Riyadh on Tuesday to discuss evolving regional and global developments.

The two leaders held an official talks session, during which the Crown Prince welcomed the president to the Kingdom, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

An official reception ceremony was held in honour of the Turkish president.

Both sides reviewed the prospects for relations between the two brotherly countries, explored avenues of cooperation, and discussed promising opportunities to further strengthen ties across various sectors.

Saudi Arabia and Turkiye maintain important bilateral relations based on diplomatic engagement, economic cooperation and regional coordination.

In recent years, both countries have worked to strengthen ties through high-level exchanges and dialogue on issues of mutual interest. The relationship continues to evolve, with a focus on trade, investment and collaboration for regional stability.

The visit marks the first leg of the Turkish president’s regional tour, Anadolu news agency reported.

President Erdogan will subsequently travel to Cairo on Wednesday at the invitation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to co-chair the second meeting of the Turkiye–Egypt High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, according to Turkiye’s Communications Director Burhanettin Duran.

During the Cairo visit, President Erdogan and President Sisi are expected to discuss bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international developments, with a focus on the situation in Palestine.
