KARACHI: The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) Karachi Registry ordered the federal government to take action on unfair loadshedding in Karachi by K Electric.
The apex court in its order said that K Electric s loadshedding procedure in Karachi was unwarranted. Failure of one person to pay the bill cannot be blamed on the entire locality and directed the federal government to take action against the unjust loadshedding of KE.
The court also sought a comprehensive plan from the federal government for supply of electricity to Karachi. The next hearing of the case has been fixed for hearing in the Supreme Court in Islamabad two weeks later.
