LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) got one more seat in the National Assembly, three more seats in Punjab Assembly and two more in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.
In this regard, the newly-elected members of the assembly met PML-N President and Prime Minister-designate Shehbaz Sharif.
Rashid Akbar Niwani, who won the election as an independent candidate from National Assembly constituency NA-92 Bhakkar, Ahmad Nawaz Niwani from PP-90 Bhakkar, Amir Inayat Shahani, who won from PP-92 and PP-93 Bhakkar, met the PML-N president.
From KP Assembly, Hisham Inamullah Khan from PK-106 and Malik Tariq Awan from PK-82 also announced joining the PML-N. The members also met Shehbaz Sharif while KP PML-N President Engineer Ameer Muqam and Sardar Awais Khan Leghari were also present.
On Friday, Akbar Hayat Hiraj from PP-205 Khanewal and Asghar Hayat Hiraj from PP-212 Khanewal announced joining the PML-N.
Shehbaz welcomed and congratulated those joining his party. The new entrants in the PML-N expressed full confidence in the leadership of Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif. They said Nawaz Sharif was the only person who could get Pakistan out of trouble. They said political instability was not in the interest of the country. They claimed that they had decided to join the PML-N in consultation with the people and supporters of their constituencies.
While talking to the newly joining MPs-elect, Shehbaz said economic threats required everyone to work together for Pakistan, adding that the PML-N had saved the country from default earlier and that was still its priority. Shehbaz said those whose agenda was chaos were still spreading chaos. He added that Nawaz Sharif was not concerned about himself and his politics; he always wanted to protect the interests of Pakistan and its people.
“We are trying to save Pakistan from any new trouble and crises,” Shehbaz said and maintained the PML-N wanted development of KPK. He concluded that terrorism could be controlled only through development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
