KARACHI : SSU Commando Khan Saeed Afridi, who representing Pakistan Police, demonstrating high quality display of Martial Arts skills, techniques and vast stamina, won silver medal in martial arts category in World Police Games held in Chengdu, China by defeating Cambodian and Philippines contenders.
It is worth mentioning here that in total, 11,000 athletes (policemen) from all over the world took part in 65 events.
It is first time in the history of Pakistan that any police commando representing Pakistan Police has won medal in World Police Games.
IGP Sindh Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam, Addl IGP Operations Ameer Shaikh, DIGP Maqsood Ahmed, DIG Nasir Aftab & Commandant SSU Ghulam Murtaza extended their heartiest congratulations to Khan Saeed Afridi for winning the silver medal by defeating his rivals and wished him luck for his upcoming matches.
Commandant SSU Ghulam Murtaza said that the Commando proved his professional Martial Arts capabilities and the people of Pakistan are proud of his success.
It is pointed out that SSU Commando Khan Saeed earlier had won two gold medals in the International Martial Arts Tournament held at Thailand in December, 2016.(INP)
