He further said global solidarity is necessary to solve global problems, adding the international community must come forward to help Afghanistan.

The premier also told the summit that Pakistan’s economy lost more than $30 billion due to last year’s floods. “The time has come to fight climate change,” he added.

Pakistan is the country most affected by climate change, he told the audience, adding the country is striving for prosperity, development and peace in the region.

The Premier stressed that all forms of terrorism should be condemned, adding Pakistan has made great sacrifices in the war against terrorism. “There is no justification for killing innocent people,” he remarked.

“The war against terrorism is being fought with full force.”

The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will prove to be a game changer in economic development and stability, he said.

He added that Special Economic Zones were being established for the development of Pakistan under the CPEC.

“I congratulate the Iranian president on becoming a member of the SCO,” the prime minister said at the beginning of his address. He also congratulated Kazakhstan on grabbing the SCO chairmanship.

At the outset of the meeting, Shehbaz welcomed all the leaders to the summit, and also thanked India for the invitation.
