ISLAMABAD: STOAP welcomed Nausheen Amjad Javed for her well deserved appointment as Chairperson Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
In Central Executive meeting of Sales Tax Officers Association (STOAP) held through video link with Raza Ashfaq Sheikh, President in the chair, it was resolved that under her able leadership FBR would certainly achieve its targets.
It was further resolved that the Chairperson would also resolve long outstanding career related issues of the officers of sales tax which are pending with a committee comprising of Member-IR (Operations), Member (Admn.), Member-IR (Policy) and Chief-IR (Management) constituted vide Board’s Order .F.No. 19(420)/2018-MIR-III dated 31.05.2019 to formulate recommendations and to address the grievances of the officers of sales tax within two months of its 1st meeting.
Consequently two meetings of FBR and STOAP committee were held on 18.07.2019 and 02.08.2019. It is pertinent to mention here that the deadline fixed by the then Chairman for the redressal of the grievances of the officers of sales tax had expired on 17.09.2019.
Despite provision of all desired information/record (verbal and in writing) by the STOAP. Neither any recommendations, as required from the Committee, have been formulated nor have been submitted to the worthy Chairman for redressal of long-standing grievances. Moreover, a Steering Committee for Re-structuring of FBR was constituted vide FBR’s order No. 12(4)Mics.M(TPA)/2019 dated 18.12.2019 wherein Raza Ashfaq Sheikh, President STOAP, was included as a member to represent all cadres of sales tax, who submitted detailed proposals on behalf of officers of all cadres of sales tax but again nothing has so far been done on these proposals.
In view of the above, STOAP expected that Chairpers.on would direct FBR’s Committee, constituted vide order F.No. 19(420)/2018-MIR-III dated 31.05.2019 to immediately formulate pending recommendations (which were due by 17.09.2019) and submit the same before her good-self to take necessary action on priority.
