Ten soldiers embrace martyrdom in two terrorist attacks in North Waziristan, Balochistan

RAWALPINDI : At least ten Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred in two separate terrorist attacks in North Waziristan Agency and Balochistan on Saturday , Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

According to the ISPR, Six Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred in North Waziristan tribal district on Saturday when terrorists opened fire on them from across the Pak-Afghan border.

The incident happened when the soldiers were on regular duty patrolling the border near Gurbaz area of North Waziristan tribal district near the Pak-Afghan border.

The martyred in North Waziristan included Havaldar Khalid, Sepoy Naveed, Sepoy Bachal, Sepoy Ali Raza, Sepoy M Babar, Sepoy Ahsan, Pakistan military’s media wing said.

In another attack, four security personnel including an officer were martyred when terrorists opened fire on Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan troops near Turbat of the province.

According to the ISPR, the attack took place when the FC Balochistan troops were carrying out a combing and sensitisation operation between Hushab and Turbat area.

They martyrs include Captain Aaqib Javed, Sepoy Nadir, Sepoy Atif Altaf and Sepoy Hafeezullah.

Director General ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor in a tweet said, Shahadat of 6 soldiers on Pak-Afg border and 4 in Balochistan is the sacrifice Pakistan is making for peace in the region.

He said “While security of tribal areas has been improved with efforts now focused to solidify border, inimical forces are attempting to destabilize Balochistan. Their efforts shall IA fail.”

Director-General ISPR Major-General Asif Ghafoor has said that hostile forces are attempting to destabilise Balochistan province now that Pakistani forces had improved the security situation in the tribal areas.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan has condoled with the grieved families of the Pakistan Army soldiers who were martyred by the terrorists on Pak-Afg border and Balochistan.

PM Imran Khan said “I salute our armed forces personnel who continue to lay down their lives fighting terrorists to keep the nation safe.”
