Hanfi’s second book launched in USA

NEW YORK: The book-launching ceremony of the second book by renowned poet Tahir Hanfi with the title of “Goongi Hijrat” (Silent Migration) was held in Parsippany, New Jersey State.

The subject of the book is the diligent people who even put their life in danger to reach overseas to earn their livelihood. The book throws light on the agonies and suffering being faced by the labour class as they dream for a better life. The author has tried to also make the readers feel the sufferings attached with the migration through his poetry.

The ceremony in this regard was organized by Arif Afzaal Usmani at the Pearl Banquet. The participants of the ceremony appreciated the work by Tahir Hanfi. They were very impressed by the style and thoughts of the poet. They congratulated Hanfi for his tremendous efforts to launch the book and highlighting problems of the overseas.

Hanfi greeted the guests of the ceremony. He then called upon the participants to express their views on the fresh poetic work. The speakers highlighted the importance of the book in understanding the problems of the working class and migrants. They said it would surely enhance a better understanding of the life and living of the labour class. It would also help improve perception about the migrants amongst the Pakistani readership.

Speaking on the occasion, prominent poet and columnist Dr. Muhammad Shafique said that the poet courageously put on paper the problems being faced by the poor people who do opt migration for a better future. Raja Razzaq threw light on the personality and poetry of the author and believed that he was a good human being and a poet also.

Later, speaking on the occasion, Hanfi gave a short introduction of the book. Hanfi was of the view that it has been a challenge to educate society and make it realize the sufferings being faced by the labour class. He read out some parts of his poetry drawing accolades from the audience.

Tahir Hanfi had a few years back launched his first poetry book “Shaher-e-Narsa.
