“The world puts its mouth on you and you don’t say a thing. The world digs a hole in your yard and it is up to you to fill it, up to you to find something useful to do with your sadness” said Hieu Minh Nguyen “outbound”. This very saying determines the boundaries the world had put around our souls and mentality for years. The limitations that are bestowed upon you as things good for you are nothing, but sources of let downs for the youth. Oftentimes, I look for ages where people were not bound, eras without criticism, and centuries with supports, and unfortunately none of those exist to be an inspiration for the people.
Throughout the years, society has done nothing, but shown criticism, envy, hatred, and jealousy towards those who were on the path of achieving greatness. It has been a non-stopping role played by the people to have things done their way which leads to millions of shattering dreams, ideologies, and inventions. The words of society had done nothing, but harm towards those who meant to work for the good cause of the world.
Beginning from the mockery of the idea of agriculture about 12,000 years ago to ridiculing the philosophies of Plato, making fun of the ideas of Aristotle, Kant, Marx, and Nietzsche, picking on writers as T.S Eliot, Virginia Woolf, Edgar Allan Poe, and Stephen Greenblatt, imprisoning leaders like Martin Luther King Jr, the society has always tried to stop the main leading minds which wanted to bring change in a world too habitual of the norms to change anything which brought a good difference.
However, the succeeding people throughout the bygone moons have always been the ones who did not abide by the rules that bounded them despite facing pressure from society. The people we read about now and read to accomplish something have always been under the harsh circumstances of a bunch of rules that they were not supposed to break such as thinking about inventions, ideologies, new norms, accomplishments, and achieving things better than the society itself, but they did it anyway and it leads them towards eternal success.
The generation today is too lost in the darkness of the hole the society has dug up in them which is far vast and dark. This hole bounds them and limits their success, this hole is in the shape of a letdown, peer pressure, force, limited career choices, boundaries for thoughts, and limitations to thinking differently than the other people. Perhaps, this hole can only be buried if the youth takes an attempt to figure out the methods of burying it by doing all the things that are right for the good cause of the world even if the world rejects those ideas.
To bury the hole is to dig all the grains of pressure from society and the mouths which cause those pressures and take relief by building up your sanity more even when the society calls you insane and only then can you choose to be you which is only the benefit of the world. It is finally the ability to say “I accept criticism, not to let me down, but to grab me upwards only”.
