Third Wave of COVID-19: 3,785 people contracted with coronavirus, 118 deaths reported in 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: Third wave of coronavirus pandemic is continue to claim lives despite lockdown and restrictions all over Pakistan and during last 24 hours 3,785 people were tested positive and 118 new deaths were reported.

Federal Government as well as Provincial governments has imposed strict lockdown despite the last week of Ramadhan and there is hope of control in the spike of virus.

The authorities on Sunday have reported 118 new deaths in last 24 hours while 3,785 more people were tested positive that took the tally to 858,026 cases. During last 24 hours 118 new deaths were reported that took the toll of fatalities to 18,915.

According to latest figures displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the NCOC confirmed the death of 118 more people during last 24 hours besides reported that 3,785 persons tested positive for COVID-19.

Punjab remained the worst hit province during this month as positivity rate of the province was witnessed over 11 per cent in some parts while the toll of infections reached to 317,972 in the province. Sindh has reported 291,668 overall coronavirus epidemic infections, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties.

The new cases have taken the national tally of positive cases to 858,026 with 317,972 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 291,668 in Sindh, 123,842 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 77,974 in Islamabad, 23,324 in Balochistan, 17,866 in Azad Kashmir and 5,380 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Nationwide till of deaths surged to 18,915 out of that 9,032 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,726 in Sindh, 3,588 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 708 in Islamabad, 507 in Azad Kashmir, 247 in Balochistan, and 107 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Till today Pakistan has conducted Pakistan has so far conducted 12,190,671 coronavirus tests and 40,736 in the last 24 hours. 757,281 patients have recovered in the country whereas 4,903 patients are in critical condition.
