ISLAMABAD: Third wave of coronavirus pandemic has claimed 78 more lives across Pakistan while 3,447 more people were tested positive to the deadly virus.
Complete lockdown has been imposed and all businesses were closed and people are being arrested or not implementing the Standard Operating Procedures of the COVID-9.
The authorities on Monday have reported 78 new deaths during last 24 hours while 3,447 more people were tested positive. 3,447 new coronavirus cases took the toll of infections to 861,473 cases. During last 24 hours 78 new deaths were reported that took the toll of fatalities to 18,993.
According to latest figures displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the NCOC confirmed the death of 78 more people during last 24 hours besides reported that 3,447 persons tested positive for COVID-19.
Punjab remained the worst hit province during this month as positivity rate of the province was witnessed over 11 per cent in some parts while the toll of infections reached to 319,365 in the province. Sindh has reported 292,644 overall coronavirus epidemic infections, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties.
The new cases have taken the national tally of positive cases to 861,473 with 319,365 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 292,644 in Sindh, 124,484 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 78,200 in Islamabad, 23,447 in Balochistan, 17,945 in Azad Kashmir and 5,388 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Nationwide till of deaths surged to 18,993 out of that 9,032 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,726 in Sindh, 3,588 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 708 in Islamabad, 507 in Azad Kashmir, 247 in Balochistan, and 107 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Till today Pakistan has so far conducted 12,228,42 coronavirus tests and 37,756 in the last 24 hours. 762,105 patients have recovered in the country whereas 4,846 patients are in critical condition.
The COVID Positivity Ratio was recorded at 9.12 per cent.
