ISLAMABAD: Third wave of Coronavirus is spreading despite the lockdown and strict implementation of SOPs as death toll in Pakistan crossed 19,000 mark with 113 new deaths in last 24 hours.
Coronavirus pandemic has claimed 113 more lives across Pakistan while 3,084 more people were tested positive to the deadly virus.
Complete lockdown has been imposed and all businesses were closed and people are being arrested for not implementing the Standard Operating Procedures of the COVID-9. Army was deployed to ensure the implementation on lockdown and SOPs as well.
The authorities on Tuesday have reported 113 new deaths during last 24 hours while 3,084 more people were tested positive. 3,084 new coronavirus cases took the toll of infections to 864,577 cases. During last 24 hours 113 new deaths were reported that took the toll of fatalities to 19,106.
According to latest figures displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the NCOC conducted 38,883 COVID-19 tests across Pakistan out of them 3,084 were tested positive.
The coronavirus positivity ratio in Pakistan stands at 7.93% as on Tuesday. The number of active COVID-19 cases in the country is 78,959, while 766,492 people have recovered from the virus so far.
Punjab remained the worst hit province during this month as positivity rate of the province was witnessed over 10 per cent in some parts while the toll of infections reached to 320,851 in the province. Sindh has reported 293,426 overall coronavirus epidemic infections, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties.
The new cases have taken the national tally of positive cases to 864,577 with 320,851 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 293,426 in Sindh, 124,979 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 78,382 in Islamabad, 23,534 in Balochistan, 17,984 in Azad Kashmir and 5,401 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Nationwide till of deaths surged to 19,106 out of that 9,125 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,750 in Sindh, 3,600 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 716 in Islamabad, 508 in Azad Kashmir, 253 in Balochistan, and 107 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Till today Pakistan has so far conducted 12,228,42 coronavirus tests and 37,756 in the last 24 hours. 762,105 patients have recovered in the country whereas 4,846 patients are in critical condition.
