COVID-19: Pakistan reports 131 deaths, 5,112 cases in 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: Coronavirus third wave is taking toll to new heights as during last 24 hours Pakistan has reported 131 new deaths while 5,112 people were tested positive to the pandemic.

Authorities on Federal and Provincial level are asking people to follow the COVID-19 SOPs to avoid the consequences as country is lacking proper facilities. Hospitals are reaching to their capacity and there is only option left that people follow SOPs strictly or the Government impose curfew.

Government has deployed the Army personnel count the country to ensure strict implementation on Coronavirus SOPs but still the situation is out of control and people looking least interested in Implementation of COVID-19 SOPs.

The authorities in Friday have reported 131 deaths in last 24 hours while the virus as 5,112 more people were tested positive for the Virus that took the toll to 820,823 cases. During last 24 hours 131 new deaths were reported that took the toll of fatalities to 17,811.

According to latest figures displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the NCOC confirmed the death of 131 more people during last 24 hours besides reported that 5,112 persons tested positive for COVID-19.

Punjab have been declared worst hit province during this month as positivity rate of the province was witnessed over 11 per cent in some parts while the toll of infections reached to 301,114 in the province. Sindh has reported 282,445 overall coronavirus epidemic infections, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties.

The new cases have taken the national tally of positive cases to 820,823 with 301,114 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 282,445 in Sindh, 117,557 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 22,278 in Balochistan, 75,067 in Islamabad, 17,057 in Azad Kashmir and 5,305 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Nationwide tally of fatalities remains 17,811 out of that 8,410 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 4,633 in Sindh, 3,274 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 234 in Balochistan, 679 in Islamabad, 475 in Azad Kashmir and 106 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Pakistan has so far conducted 11,788,126 coronavirus tests and 49,099 in the last 24 hours. 711,465 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 5,360 patients are in critical condition.
