THARPARKAR: Three more newborns died of malnutrition and epidemics in different areas of Tharparkar on Friday raising death toll in December to 40.
According to details, malnutrition and epidemics continue to claim lives of more children as three newborns breathed their last in Lachman Bhail, Mubarak Halepota and Nagarparkar areas of Tharparkar.
With recent deaths, toll in the month of December has climbed to 40 and during the ongoing year to 817.
It should be mentioned here that about 90 children affected of malnutrition were still under treatment in various hospitals and there was extreme shortage of medicines and other treatment facilities in hospitals of the district to control the death rate of the children.
The provincial government and health authorities despite the worsening situation have turned deaf ears to resolve the issue resulting in loss of precious lives on daily basis adding to the worries of the people of Tharparkar.
