LAHORE: Three more Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MPAs including Azma Bukhari, Samiullah Khan and Raheela Khadim Hussain also on Wednesday submitted their resignations from the Punjab assembly seats to the party leadership taking the tally to 10 resignations from PML(N).
Raheela Khadim Hussain is an MPA from W-356, a reserved constituency for women in the Punjab Assembly, Azma Zahid Bukhari W-318, another reserved constituency for women in PA while Samiullah Khan is MPA from PP-144 (Lahore-I).
The PML-N MPAs and MNAs who have submitted their resignations to the party leadership even before the formal announcement or policy decision are: MPA Saif-ul-Malook Khokhar (PP-160) and his younger brother MNA Afzal Khokhar (NA-136), MNA from NA-90 Sargodha Chaudhry Hamid Hameed, MNA Ch Bashir Mehmood Virk from NA-80 Gujranwala –III, MNA Azhar Qayyum Nahra from Gujranwala NA-84 and Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bherth from PP-72 (Sargodha-I), Chaudhry Iftikhar Hussain Chhachhar from PP-188 (Okara-IV).
JUI-F as the resignations by the lawmakers of the parties belonging to the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) gather momentum, JUI-F has also taken a major step as all its members of the Senate and the National Assembly have handed over their resignations to party chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
The JUI-F has 14 legislators in the National Assembly and four in the Senate.
The party has also directed its members in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan assemblies to be ready to submit their resignations.
