Three more youth killed in IHK, 12 in last three days

SRINAGAR: Three more youth were killed by Indian Security Forces on Monday morning in Indian Held Kashmir (IHK), a total of 12 killings in first three days of Ramazan.

The death toll of youth, whom Indian authorities tag as militants, has raised to twelve during the first three days of Ramadhan.

The new killings on Monday morning happened in lower Munda area of Indian Occupied Kashmir’s Southern district Kulgam. It was the second gunfight in less than 12 hours in Kulgam district. Earlier 4 Kashmiris were killed in Duddar area of Kulgam district.

A total of 30 Kashmiris youth have been killed so far in this month.

A senior police officer said the operation was been concluded killing three militants at Lower-Munda Qazigund.

“With the killing of the militants the death toll reached twelve in three days”, he said.

The identity of the militants is yet to be ascertained, the officer said. But the locals identified as Bilal Ahmad and Aquib both residents of Pulwama district and third slain youth was yet to be identified.

Earlier, a joint team of army, SOG and CRPF following a specific information had launched a search operation. As the joint team of forces intensified the searches the hiding militants opened fire and tried to escape and in retaliation triggering off an encounter.

“The operation is over now,” security officials said.

Meanwhile, in wake of the encounter, the authorities have blocked internet services in entire Kulgam district

The bodies of slain youth were shifted to Ganderbal for burial.

Fearing public tributes in funeral of the martyred youth, Indian authorities do not handover dead bodies of slain youth to their families.
