SRINAGAR: Two more Kashmiris were killed on Saturday by Indian security forces in another alleged encounter in Dangerpora area of Pulwama in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The fresh killing have raised the toll of Kahsmiris martyred during first week of Ramazan to 17.
In a brief statement on Twitter, a police spokesman said that two unidentified militants were killed in the gunfight. “Search operation is going on,” said the spokesman.
A senior police official also confirmed that two militants have been killed in the gunfight, adding that search operation is on in the area.
Earlier, as per reports a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched in the area by joint team of forces including 55 RR, CRPF and J&K police following specific inputs about the presence of militants.
“As forces zeroed towards suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon forces which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter,” he claimed
Two residential houses have also been destroyed leaving two families homeless. Meanwhile, the internet services have been snapped in Police district Pulwama.
It is pertinently to mention that it has been 6th encounter in past one week in which seventeen Kashmiris have been martyred.
