LAHORE: Two robbers were arrested in injured condition during alleged police encounters at two different places in Lahore’s Iqbal Town division on Saturday, a police official said.
According to the police, the first alleged police encounter occurred near the Doongi ground of Huma Block in the area of Iqbal Town police station, where a police party reached the spot on information about the presence of robbers.
Police said that the accused started firing on seeing the police, one robber was arrested in injured condition in the retaliatory action.
Later, the accused has been identified as Abdul Rasheed, who has a record in more than 27 incidents.
As per the police details, one of his accomplices, Asif, fled the scene and is being sought.
In the retaliatory action, one robber, identified as Haider Ali, was injured while his three accomplices managed to escape.
The police registered the case and started further investigation.
