ISLAMABAD: Ukraine Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba on Thursday denied reports that Pakistan was supplying arms to Kyiv in the midst of its current confrontation with Russia.
Addressing a joint news conference with Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, Kuleba insisted Pakistan and Ukraine had no arms supply agreement. He also thanked Pakistan for backing Ukraine’s position on its security and sovereignty.
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said the conflict between Ukraine and Russia should be ended through dialogue.
Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said: “Pakistan and Ukraine have long-standing amicable and historical links. The opportunities exist for bilateral trade, cultural exchange, and investment between the two countries.”
He added, “We want to boost collaboration across a range of industries. I praise Ukraine for supporting Pakistan in the Human Rights Council’s resolution on religious freedom”.
Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said: “It is important to make it simpler for Ukrainian products to reach the global market. The Russia-Ukraine conflict had a greater impact on developing countries”.
In connection with the country’s withdrawal from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Wednesday commended the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
Expressing his thoughts in line with the MoFA’s attempts for change management reforms, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said, “In order to combat any obstacle, we have to be prepared.”
