ISLAMBAD: An era of cricket has ended as Pakistan’s world famous medium pace bowler Umer Gul announced his retirement from all formats of cricket.
“With a very heavy heart and after a lot of thinking, i have decided to bid farewell to all formats of cricket after this National T20 Cup. I have always played for Pakistan with all my heart and 100% of hard work. Cricket is and will always be my love n passion,” Umer Gul informed his fans about his decision on twitter.
Umer also thanked PCB, media and his followers who supported him during his cricketing career. He said that all good things comes to an end praying that future will hold much more for him.
While talking to the media he went to tears on his farewell occasion. Umer’s fellow cricketers gave him standing ovation after playing match in the National T20 cup last night.
Showbiz personalities, Ali Zafar and Fahad Mustafa also praise Umer Gul and thanked him for his services to cricketers.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Muhammad Hafeez, Sarfaraz Ahmed and other cricket experts tweeted and wished Umer Gul best of luck for his life ahead.
