HAFIZABAD: A youth committed suicide by shooting him and injured mother of beloved over failure in love here on Thursday.
Police said that a youth identified as Shahid Chadhar belonging to a landlord family of village Kot Bela of tehsil Pindi Bhattian of district Hafizabad was in love with a daughter of labourer residing in neighbourhood. The family of girl settled her wedding somewhere else and she was to get marry on Sunday.
After getting information of marriage of her beloved, Shahid Chadhar reached her home and tried to forcefully take her along with him.
However, mother of the girl offered strong resistance after which he opened fire them critically injuring mother of beloved identified as Shehnaz Bibi while the girl managed to save her by taking shelter in room of the house. The accused committed suicide by shooting him with the same weapons.
The body and injured woman were shifted to hospital where Shehnaz Bibi was referred to Allied Hospital Faisalabad due to critical condition. (INP)
