Youth killed by lions in Lahore’s Safari Park

LAHORE: A youth aged 17 was killed in an attack by four lions in Safari Park Lahore. The management of the Park traced the body parts of the boy in the cage on Wednesday.

Media reports said the youth identified as Bilal went towards the cage of lions while cutting grass in the park and was killed by the lions. Some media reports suggested the youth in some daring maneuver entered the lions’ cage, which resulted in his death.

The administration of the Safari Park has launched investigation into the matter to find out the real cause behind the incident.

Severed body parts of the boy, who had been missing for three days, were found in the cage for lions at the Safari Park in Lahore on Wednesday afternoon, reported Geo News.

The boy, identified as Bilal by local media, had been reported missing two days ago, but his family only came forward to search for him in the park earlier today, the park administration said.

According to Director Safari Park Lahore Chaudhry Shafqat, the body parts of the boy were discovered after the family contacted the park administration in this regard on Wednesday morning. Shafqat said the incident was brought to his knowledge earlier today.

Police investigation revealed that the boy had climbed the fence and entered into the park to cut grass.

Bilal’s uncle was an employee of the park, police said, adding that while he was cutting grass the lions attacked him.

The police claim to have found a sickle, grass and human remains from the site, adding that the incident took place two days ago.
