Zulfi denies allegations of Israel visit, vows to take legal action

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Overseas Pakistani’s, Zulfi Bukhari, has once again denied visiting Israel on behalf of the government.

He also vowed to send a legal notice to the British think-tank propagating this rumor.

Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Zulfi Bukhari vehemently denied the allegations against him, saying that he has never visited Israel and that false information was being spread about him.

Zulfi Bukhari stated that he is happy when he gets criticized as it means he’s doing something right. He said that he was also blamed for spreading coronavirus through the Taftan border as if the country’s borders operate on his command.

Talking about the plight of Pakistani workers in the Middle East, especially in the United Arab Emirates, he said there was a difference between labor and visitor visas. The country is working with the UAE on chalking out a formal visa mechanism, he added.

The Special Assistant claimed that he is trying to increase EOBI pension by raising the government contribution and proper utilization of its resources.

While talking about the Workers Welfare Fund, he said the government as par decision of Council of Common Interest is trying to devolve it to provinces. He said a proper mechanism in this regard is being devised so all provinces can get the benefits from it. (With input from INP)
