QUETTA: Three security forces personnel were martyred and at least 20 other people were injured on Sunday morning when a suicide bomb blast took place at an FC checkpost located at Mastung Road of Quetta city.
According to details, the security forces personnel have arrived at the scene and launched rescue operation to shift the victims to hospital for medical assistance.
The spokesperson said that Balochistan Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) team had arrived at the spot and had started a probe into the incident.
The CTD confirmed the suicide attack had targeted the Sohana Khan FC checkpost at Mastung Road. Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) said that it was a suicide attack.
Emergency has been declared in all the hospitals of capital city of Balochistan. Moroever, police officers have also cordoned off the entire area.
Police, law enforcement agencies and rescue officials had soon arrived at the area after the blast. The injured wer shifted to the Sheikh Zaid hospital, confirmed police.
Police said the suicide bomber had rammed his motorcycle into the vehicle of a law enforcement agency at the checkpost.
Shortly after the blast, a bomb disposal unit had arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation into the attack.
