War De-escalation: Senior Iranian Officials Land in Islamabad to Tackle Global Turmoil

ISLAMABAD: A high profile Iranian’s officials arrived in Pakistan early Saturday to take part in important talks with the United States, aimed at securing a lasting solution of their ongoing war.

Sources said the delegation from Iran was received by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar along, Chief of Army Staff & Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

The 14-member delegation led by Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, includes Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Akbar Ahmadian, Central Bank Governor Abdolnaser Hemmati, former IRGC commander Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr and others.

The two-week ceasefire was agreed to allow time for negotiations aimed at ending the war that has already killed thousands and plunged the international economy into turmoil.

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to facilitate and finalise dialogue for a lasting and peaceful resolution to the ongoing war and expressed optimism that all sides would engage constructively.

This development comes amid intensified diplomatic activity in Pakistan, where efforts are underway to facilitate dialogue and de-escalation in the region. The presence of senior Iranian leadership is being viewed as a key step toward advancing the peace process.
