Pakistan reports 3,232 cases in last 24 hours besides 74 new deaths

ISLAMABAD: COVID-19 has shown a little relief for people as during last 24 hours 3,232 new cases were reported all over Pakistan along with 74 new deaths on Monday.

Government functionaries and health experts are attributing the decline in coronavirus pandemic cases to the strict lockwon imposed on Eidul Fitr, as people were forced to remain at home and implement the SOPs.

The authorities on Monday have confirmed 74 new deaths and 3,232 more people were tested positive. 3,232 new coronavirus cases took the toll of infections to 880,362 cases. During last 24 hours 74 new deaths were reported that took the toll of fatalities to 19,617.

According to latest figures displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the NCOC conducted 36,725 COVID-19 tests across Pakistan on Monday out of them 3,232 were tested positive.

The coronavirus positivity ratio in Pakistan stands at 7.93% as on Monday. The number of active COVID-19 cases in the country is 78,959, while 792,522 people have recovered from the virus so far and 4,443 were reported to be in critical condition.

Punjab remained the worst hit province during this month as positivity rate of the province was witnessed over 10 per cent in some parts while the toll of infections reached to 327,362 in the province. Sindh has reported 299,194 overall coronavirus epidemic infections, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties.

The new cases have taken the national tally of positive cases to 880,692 with 327,362 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 299,194 in Sindh, 127,038 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 79,221 in Islamabad, 23,866 in Balochistan, 18,258 in Azad Kashmir and 5,423 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Nationwide till of deaths surged to 19,617 out of that 9,411 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,801 in Sindh, 3,786 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 731 in Islamabad, 514 in A so far ad Kashmir, 267 in Balochistan, and 107 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

So far till Monday Pakistan has conducted 12,480,767 coronavirus tests and 36,725 in the last 24 hours. 792,522 patients have recovered in the country whereas 4,443 patients are in critical condition.
