It is pertinent to mention that most of these Coalminers belong to the backward areas Shangla, Swat and hundreds of these workers have had been killed for the last more than one decade by the separatists elements in Balochistan.

Senator Dost Muhammad Mehsud has called upon the Army high ups to initiate punitive measures to ensure safe recovery of these captives and give exemplary punishments against these miscreants – who have been given a free hands to play with the lives of innocent coalminers who work in hazardous conditions to earn a decent living for their families.

He expressed his deep sorrow and grief over the nysterious silence of the mainstream media, civil society activists, human rightsorganizations, towards the plight of the coalminers, who are being abducted and killed in impunity by the so-called Baloch separatists in the name of nationalism.

Ironically these separatists always tend to find sympathetic coverage in media while the innocent coalminers and labourers who face the wrath of these terrorists find no sympathetic space.

He made a fervent appeal to Chief Justice of Pakistan Umer Atta Bandial to take suo motu notice of the kidnapping of these hapless coalminers, whose grief sticken families back home are desperately awaiting for the safe return of the loved ones.

He demanded that a viable security mechanism be provided to hese Coalminers working in Balochistan and even arms licenses be given to them for their security if the government fails to discharge its prime constitutional responsibility of providing security to its citizens. By Roshan Khan Wazir
