ISLAMABAD: The accountability court of Islamabad has extended the interim bail of former prime minister’s wife Imran Khan till November 17 in the Toshakhana and 190-million-pound Al-Qadir Trust cases.
The case was being heard against the former first lady by accountability court judge Muhammad Bashir.
When no lawyer appeared on behalf of Bushra Bibi, the judge asked where the suspect was. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor said he was unaware, as Sardar Latif Khosa was the counsel in the case.
The judge said if there was no one present, then the case could be fixed for Friday. The court adjourned the hearing of the case till November 17.
On Tuesday, the Islamabad High Court’s registrar office had raised objections to Bushra Bibi’s application seeking an order against arresting or summoning her in any case.
The application was filed through counsel Latif Khosa, and the FIA, NAB, anti-corruption establishment and the Islamabad inspector general of police were the parties.
The objection stated that without any FIR, a bail petition was not maintainable.
