We often require a good cry to makes one feel better. It’s a natural response to emotions. It helps you relieve your anxiety, toxin, stress, and enhances one’s mood.
Sometimes, crying proves to be a healthy catharsis and allow humans to gain mental balance after a loss. However, our society believes that “Real men never cry”. It raised many questions in my mind. Why? Why men’s cannot cry even though they have a heart, they feel sad, they have been facing challenges and obstacles.
Men cautiously handle their emotions and if they have to cry, people make a mockery of them, without knowing the fact that what they are going through
They, too, get abused, misuse, hurt but when they complain about it, they are considered as weak by the people. Men cry less than women. They cautiously handle their emotions and if they have to cry, people make a mockery of them, without knowing the fact that what he is going through.
I remember, I was teenage when my mother was admitted in a hospital. She was in severe condition as her blood reports weren’t satisfactory. She needed to be operated upon. We all the siblings were worried because of her medical reports.
I remember, me and my sister were badly crying. The fear of losing mother made both of us break down. Our family members consoled us, patted and hugged us, which somehow, pulled me out of the stress and worry.
I remember one of my brothers was standing in the corner, trying to hide his red-tear sorrowful eyes and kept trying to hold his tears. I remember, when my son was born, I promised myself I will always encourage my son to vent emotions instead of holding it.
Now, being a mother of three sons I make him learn that crying makes you more affectionate; it makes you feel the pain of your loved ones, realize and understand others’ situation and helps you be a better version of yourself.
