ISLAMABAD: Coronavirus pandemic fourth wave, continue to claim more lives and contract more people in Pakistan as during last 24 hours 3,221 new coronavirus cases were reported, besides 95 people lost their lives to Virus.
According to latest figures appeared on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 95 more people have died of the virus while 3,221 people were contracted to COVID-19.
The gross positive cases inched up to 1,105,300 on Tuesday morning, after 3,221 more people were tested positive. The overall toll of fatalities across Pakistan surged to 24,573 as 95 more deaths were reported. more than 993,304 people have been recovered so far while number of active cases, however, fell slightly to 87,423.
From the 48,181 COVID-19 tests conducted over the last 24 hours, only 3,221 came back positive that took the positive ratio in the country to 6.68 per cent.
The latest NCOC stats also showed that 4,291 people recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours, while another 95 people died.
Pakistan is reporting 4,351 new infections on average each day, 74 per cent of the peak — the highest daily average reported on June 17.
Pakistan has administered at least 42,688,545 doses of COVID-19 vaccines so far. Assuming every person needs two doses, that’s enough to have vaccinated about 9.9% of the country’s population.
During the last week reported, Pakistan averaged about 849,679 doses administered each day. At that rate, it will take a further 51 days to administer enough doses for another 10 per cent of the population.
