COVID-19 claims 67 more lives in Pakistan; 4,131 people test positive in last 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: COVID-19 pandemic claimed another 67 lives in Pakistan during last 24 hours while 4,131 more people have been tested positive to coronavirus on Wednesday.

The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), has confirmed 4,131 new infections of the virus and also reported 67 new deaths during last 24 hours. The overall country-wide death toll surged to 1,688 while the confirmed infections reached to 80,463.

Sindh is still on top as worst hit province by the coronavirus pandemic with 31,086 confirmed cases the highest number along side with 526 fatalities, followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Pakistan, after crossing the milestone of half a million tests of the coronavirus epidemic has so far conducted 595,344 coronavirus tests and 17,370 in last 24 hours. 28,923 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas many are in critical condition. Coronavirus epidemic patients are under treatment at quarantine centers of 462 hospitals where 7,295 beds are available.

According to latest figure displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of NCOC on June 03, Wednesday 9:30am, the province-wise break up after confirming the toll of 80,463 infections. Sindh jumped to 31,086 coronavirus cases followed by Punjab with.29,489 infections of the COVID-19 pandemic. The infections confirmed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have crossed 10,027 confirmed infections, in Balochistan toll surged to 4,740, Gilgit-Baltistan reached to the toll of 779 infections, Islamabad Capital Territory reached to 3,188 and 284 infection reported in Azad Jammu Kashmir.

The figure given by Coronavirus Dashboard in its province-wise break up regarding the total 1,688 deaths reported in the country. Punjab at top of the list of confirmed deaths with 570 as Sindh remains at number 2 with 526 deaths. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa death toll surged to 490 and the province has shown a little decline in fatalities. Balochistan 49, Gilgit-Baltisan 12, Islamabad Capital Territory 34 and AJK 7.
