COVID-19: Pakistan reporting lowest daily COVID-19 death toll in almost three months

ISLAMABAD: Death toll across Pakistan surpassed 22,000 mark after 30 new fatalities were reported during last 24 hours, pushing the total death tally to 22,007.
According to data displayed on the National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National and Command and Operation Center (NCOC), Pakistan reported its lowest daily COVID-19 death toll in almost three months. As per the NCOC, 27 people had lost their lives to  the virus on Saturday.
The last lowest daily COVID-19 death toll was recorded by the country on March 21 when 20 people had died from the infection.
During last 24 hours 907 people were tested positive to deadly virus while 30 people have lost their lives.
The NCOC reported that 34,754 coronavirus tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, out of which 907 returned positive, taking the total caseload to 949,175. The positivity rate of coronavirus stands at 2.6 per cent.
The total number of deaths from COVID-19 in the country so far has reached 22,007 and the total number of cases has reached 949,175, while 893,148 people have recovered from the virus so far. The active number of cases currently stands at 34,020.
The country is reporting a steady decline in coronavirus cases amid the deadly third wave that has wreaked havoc.
Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths and cases followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Till now 10,642 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 5,341 in Sindh, 4,269 in KP, 775 in Islamabad, 571 in Azad Kashmir, 301 in Balochistan, and 108 in GB.
The number of coronavirus infections across tghe country surged to 949,175 out of which 345,065 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 332,254 in Sindh, 137,075 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 82,368 in Islamabad, 26,633 in Balochistan, 19,967 in Azad Kashmir and 5,813 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Pakistan has so far conducted 14,148,424 coronavirus tests and 34,754 in the last 24 hours. 893,148 patients have recovered in the country whereas 2,238 patients are in critical condition.
