ISLAMABAD: Coronavirus third wave took a worst turn across Pakistan as during last 24 hours 6,127 new cases were reported besides 149 deaths.
Despite restrictions, lockdown, government’s orders of closure shops in time and to ensure implementation of Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs), Coronavirus pandemic is taking worst turn as 149 deaths were reported and 6,127 people were tested positive in last one day.
On Sunday morning the country has reported 149 new deaths by COVID-19 pandemic that took the toll of fatalities to 16,243, while 6,127 more people were tested positive taking the tally to 756,285 round the Pakistan.
According to latest figures displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the NCOC confirmed the death of 149 more people during last 24 hours besides reported that 6,127 persons tested positive for COVID-19.
Punjab has been declared worst hit province during this month as positivity rate of the province was witnessed over 11 per cent in some parts. Sindh has reported 272,197 overall coronavirus epidemic infections remained the worst-hit province of the country in terms of cases followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties.
So far across the country 272,197 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 267,572 in Punjab, 105,438 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 69,556 in Islamabad, 20,822 in Balochistan, 15,524 in Azad Kashmir and 5,176 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Nationwide tally of fatalities remains 16,243 out of that 7,430 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,551 in Sindh, 2,867 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 636 in Islamabad, 433 in Azad Kashmir, 223 in Balochistan, and 103 in Gilgit Baltistan.
Pakistan has so far conducted 11,144,367 coronavirus tests and 71,836 in the last 24 hours. 659,483 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 4,446 patients are in critical condition.
