ISLAMABAD: Martyrs of Gaw Kadal, the massacre let loose by Indian army in 1990 were remembered and glowing tributes were paid to martyrs who laid their lives for the sacred cause of liberation of Kashmir.
Chairman Jammu & Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) Altaf Ahmed Bhat paid glowing tributes to martyrs of Gaw Kadal massacre and said that Kashmiri nation has paid cast of freedom of motherland by sheddibng blood for decades. Despite increasing Indian brutalities Kashmiris have never surrendered or bent before the military might of India.
Chairman JKSM has said that on 21st January 1990 Indian troops had killed more than 50 innocent people by resorting to indiscriminate firing on peaceful demonstrator in the Gaw Kadal area of Srinagar. The demonstrators were protesting against the molestation of several women by troops, the previous night.
Altaf Ahmed Bhat said that since 1989 Indian occupation forces have committed worst Human Rights violations in Kashmir and have martyred more than 96,163 innocnets are killed, 72,82 are killed in custody, 165,428 civilians arrested, 110,49 structures were destroyed and arsoned, while 22,954 women are widowed, 11,256 molested and gang raped.
Chairman JKSM Altaf Ahmed Bhat said that its an eye opener for the developed world how India is crushing Dissent, Humanity, and breaking all International and Humanitarian norms in IIOJ&K.
Kashmir is the issue of Humanity, hence collectively International Organizations, Scholars, NGOs must raise the voice of voiceless and besieged Kashmiris in the world.
