Moon of Rajab sighted, month to begin on Dec 22

ISLAMABAD: The Islamic month Rajab al-Murjab moon has been sighted, confirming that the first day of Rajab 1447 AH will be observed tomorrow, December 22, 2025.

The announcement came by the Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad. Based on his declaration, the Ministry of Religious Affairs issued a formal notification regarding the beginning of Rajab al-Murjab.

Rajab is one of the four sacred months in Islam and holds significant religious importance for Muslims.

Earlier, the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) had predicted the sighting of the moon marking the start of Rajab al-Murjab 1447 AH.

SUPARCO’s prediction aligned with the official sighting, providing scientific support to the moon observation announced by the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
