Pakistan reports lowest number of new COVID-19 cases in over a month; 1,979 cases in 24 hrs

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has confirmed 1,979 new infections in last 24 hours the number is the lowest in over a month, besides 50 deaths were reported in a single day.

With 50 more COVID-19 fatalities reported in the country the death toll surged to 5,320, and with 1,979 new infections confirmed nation-wide the toll of infections jumped to 253,604.

The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), has confirmed 253,604 coronavirus infections in the country as well as it reported 5,320 deaths due to COVID-19.

According to latest figure displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of NCOC on July 14, Tuesday 01:30pm, the province-wise break up after confirming the toll of 253,604 infections show that Sindh has become the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of confirmed infections, the toll surged to 106,622 infectons followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.

Sindh as worst hit province crossed the 100,000 mark of infections and is at top of the unfortunate table of COVID-19 infections with toll of 106,622 infections across the province and Punjab is still at second position with 87,492 confirmed infections. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also crossed reached to 30,747 infections of COVID-19 across the province. Islamabad Capital Territory eached to 14,202 infections, while Balochistan jumped to 11,192 infections. Gilgit Baltistan reached to 1,694 and Azad Jammu Kashmir 1,655 infections.

Pakistan has conducted 1,606,190 coronavirus tests nation-wide out of which 21,020 during last 24 hours. 170,656 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas many are in critical condition. Coronavirus epidemic patients are under treatment at quarantine centers of 462 hospitals where 7,295 beds are available.

Punjab is at top of the list of confirmed deaths with 2,026 while Sindh with 1,826 deaths at number two. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa death toll surged to 1,106, Balochistan 126, Gilgit-Baltistan 36, Islamabad Capital Territory 155 and AJK 45.
