ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said on Thursday that Pakistan’s total foreign exchange reserves had reached around $26.8 billion in September 2026.
In a post on X, he said the State Bank’s reserves had crossed $21.4 billion.
He said the increase in foreign exchange reserves was an important development towards economic stability.
The minister said the improvement in reserves was the result of the government’s economic policies, fiscal discipline and better management of the external sector.
He said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his economic team had taken difficult decisions to bring the country back towards economic stability.
“Pakistan has a much stronger foreign exchange buffer compared to the past,” he said.
“The prime minister and the economic team had brought Pakistan out of the risk of default and set it on the path towards stability,” he said, adding tha Pakistan is moving in the right direction towards economic stability.
He noted that Pakistan’s economy will become stable and Pakistan will move forward.
