PARC signs agreement of joint venture with Horizon Traders

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) has signed an agreement with commercial business organization Horizon Traders to produce decayed organic material (Compost) used as plant fertilizer.

Chief Executive Officer of PARC Agrotech Company (PATCO) Dr. Muhammad Amjad and CEO, Horizon Traders Malik Hassan endorsed the documents in the presence of Dr. Muhammad Azeem Khan, Chairman, and PARC along-with other high officials on Thursday at PARC headquarter.

Chairman PARC Dr. Azeem informed that this agreement will enable PARC to produce compost of fruit, vegetable, mandi waste, livestock farm waste and household waste or any other organic raw material.

Highlighting the objectives, Dr. Azeem stated that our food security goals for sustainable development includes to ensure healthy food by introducing sustainable food production systems and resilient agricultural practices.

He told that PARC is also working on organic farming and looking for standardization of commercial brand PARC compost and PARC vermi-compost. Transfer of all the technologies to small entrepreneurs and farmers will also be ensured.

Explaining further Azeem said that both parties are entering with a common goal of promoting agriculture research oriented organic products in the country with specific target of production, marketing and sale of compost, vermi-compost and allied business such as nursery plants growth in compost, vermi-compost pots.

Malik Hassan, CEO, Horizon Traders appreciated PARC efforts in agriculture sector and also thanked Dr. Muhammad Azeem Khan, Chairman PARC who consented to get MoU signed between Horizon Traders and Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC).
