ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan in consultation with Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Ahmed Khan Buzdar appointed Syed Tariq Mahmood ul Hassan, Vice Chairperson Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission as Special Assistant for Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development.
This decision came after extraordinary performance and revolutionary steps taken by Makhdoom Syed Tariq Mehmood ul Hassan as VC OPC in four months under the leadership of CM Punjab.
Syed Tariq Mahmood ul Hassan resolved record over 1500 cases of Overseas Pakistanis and provided them with immediate relief.
He set up a new web portal, a mobile application and a 24/7 call center for overseas Pakistanis. In addition, for the first time in the history of Pakistan, a revenue office (Mall Khana) has been set up from where overseas Pakistanis can get their land’s record.
He has also established special desk of Technical and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) at OPC to provide required skill set and trade specific training opportunities.
Syed Tariq Mehmood ul Hassan has also established Tourism and Investment desks at OPC office to enhance the scope of tourism in Pakistan and boost investment. During his four months tenure he held over 22 awareness sessions with overseas Pakistanis through media and seminars in Pakistan and abroad to raise awareness about the commission role and powers in resolving the issues of overseas Pakistanis.
Keeping in view his performance and on special demand of Pakistani diaspora the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has given the responsibility of overseas Pakistanis to Syed Tariq Mehmood ul Hassan by appointing his as his special assistant for MOPHRD.
This is the most important appointment after the historic step of giving electronic voting right to over ten million Pakistanis around the world.
The incumbent SAPM shall have to play a role of liaison or bridge between the PTI led Government and Pakistani diaspora to motivate them to vote for Pakistan. These votes shall play pivotal role in formation of next government in Pakistan.
Syed Tariq Mahmudul Hassan is a renowned lawyer and has extensive experience in international affairs. He is also the author of various books written on international affairs.
SAPM Syed Tariq Mehmood ul Hassan is committed to provide a sense of security to overseas Pakistanis in every nook and corner of the country by establishing Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission style institutions through legislation in all the provinces of Pakistan which include Sindh, KPK, Baluchistan, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
