PM Shehbaz Calls on Qatari investors to expand investment ties

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday invited Qatari investors to explore fresh opportunities for partnership under Pakistan’s Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) framework, reaffirming Islamabad’s resolve to deepen trade and investment relations with Doha.

He made the remarks during a meeting with Qatar’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al-Thani, who is in Pakistan to co-chair the 6th Session of the Pakistan-Qatar Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC).

PM Shehbaz stressed the importance of enhancing bilateral trade and investment cooperation, particularly in the areas of energy, agriculture, food security, information technology, tourism, and infrastructure development.

He highlighted Pakistan’s investor-friendly environment and expressed confidence that increased Qatari investment would play a vital role in strengthening Pakistan’s economy and boosting regional stability.

He also expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of Pakistan-Qatar relations, noting that ties between the two nations are rooted in shared faith, values, and mutual respect.

PM shehbaz praised Qatar’s role as an important partner and commended its contributions as an influential regional mediator, particularly in supporting peace and economic collaboration across the Muslim world.

The Qatari minister appreciated Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and emphasized the importance of facilitating business-to-business linkages between the two countries.
