RAWALPINDI: The Director General of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Kinza Murtaza, has issued a stern warning to the general public about the dangers of investing in illegal housing schemes. Murtaza emphasized the importance of being vigilant and avoiding fraudulent projects that do not comply with legal standards.
The RDA spokesperson highlighted that DG Murtaza has directed the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate of RDA to take stringent actions against illegal housing schemes that violate the laws. These actions are to be enforced under the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and the Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Scheme Rules 2021.
In a statement, the spokesperson noted, “DG RDA has instructed that action should be taken against illegal advertisements and marketing by unauthorized housing schemes. FIRs will be filed against those found guilty of these violations.”
Kinza Murtaza pointed out that the owners and sponsors of these housing schemes often mislead the public through deceptive advertisements. “Legal action should be taken against illegal and misleading advertisements to protect the public from fraud,” she asserted.
The public is urged to avoid investing in any illegal and unauthorized schemes. For their own safety, individuals should verify the legitimacy of any housing project by consulting the RDA’s official website at www.rda.gop.pk before making any investments.
By taking these measures, the RDA aims to safeguard the public from fraudulent activities and ensure that development within Rawalpindi adheres to established legal frameworks.
