BIRMINGHAM: South Africa emerged victorious in the final of the World Championship of Legends, defeating Pakistan by nine wickets in a commanding performance led by the legendary AB de Villiers.
Chasing a formidable target of 196 runs, South Africa completed the run chase in just 16.5 overs, thanks to a spectacular unbeaten century by de Villiers, who scored 120 not out off 60 balls. His explosive innings included 12 fours and 7 sixes, leaving Pakistan’s bowlers with no answers.
Supporting de Villiers at the other end was JP Duminy, who played a crucial role with a steady 50 not out off 28 balls, as the duo built a match-winning partnership to secure the title.
Earlier, Pakistan had posted a competitive total of 195 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs. Sharjeel Khan provided a strong start with a blistering 76-run knock, while Umar Amin contributed 36 runs to the scoreboard.
Despite Pakistan’s strong batting effort, it wasn’t enough to stop a determined South African side led by their seasoned stars.
