LAHORE: “Sufi Night” a musical event held for Sufi Music lovers on Saturday featuring the performances of Sufi Band “Teen Taal” and “Alhamra Unplugged” which enthralled the audiences through their exceptional performances. A remarkable turnout of viewers was observed on the occasion at Alhamra Arts Centre the Mall.
Director General Punjab Institute of Language Art and Culture (PILAC) Saman Rai was the guest of Honour of the event and she said said that, Sufi music is not bound by colors, nations or borders; the event was undoubtedly a delightful pleasure for Sufi music lovers.
Executive Director Lahore Arts Council Ather Ali Khan said that the objective of organizing this evening is to pay tribute to our Sufi poets and transfer our Sufi heritage to our young generation. He further said that Lahore Arts Council has always encouraged and promoted such events. Sufi music is a strong part of Pakistani music, and I believe that this is an effective tool to revisit the least explored world of Sufi music.
Ather Ali Khan further said that LAC arranged this night in collaboration with Hubullah Welfare Society as a treat for the people who love Sufi music and wanted to listen their favorite singers with the mesmerizing multiplicity of Sufi poetry.
People from all walks of life attended the Sufi Night and appreciated the performances of “Teen Taal” and “Alhamra Unplugged. During the event, artists spellbound the public with their sizzling performance; people were swaying, enjoying and absorbing the Sufi music.
